Jason thrives on leveraging his passion for guiding growing technology companies through legal and business challenges as well as playing an active role in strategy and leadership. He’s built his 10+ year in-house career at B2B enterprise software and SaaS companies during all stages of growth. Jason’s experience includes a blend of legal advisory, business strategy, and entrepreneurial spirit across a broad range of subject areas, including SaaS and software licensing, data security and privacy, contract drafting and negotiation, technology transactions, product counseling, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, fundraising, corporate governance, labor and employment, dispute resolution, and litigation management.
Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, building Lego, and tinkering with cars, watches, and tech. Prior to launching his legal career, Jason led business development at an EdTech startup. He traveled the world advocating for mobile technologies in classrooms, and was responsible for driving company growth and supporting capture activities.

Joal is dedicated to helping technology companies close deals faster, navigate legal complexity without the noise, and grow with confidence. With nearly two decades of combined legal and business leadership—including nine years as General Counsel, VP-level business development experience, and several years leading an enterprise software business unit—he brings a uniquely commercial mindset to legal and strategic work.
Joal’s experience spans negotiating hundreds of high-value SaaS and software licensing agreements, structuring partnerships of all types, advising on major M&A and funding transactions, and guiding cross-functional teams across sales, product, and operations. His clients range from early-stage startups to global enterprises, and he’s known for his clear thinking, practical instincts, and ability to get deals done without unnecessary friction.
Outside of work, Joal is a devoted dad who enjoys spending time outdoors—climbing, hiking, running, or boating.
